The 2024 World Series continued Saturday with a Dodgers victory to give Los Angeles a 2-0 series lead over the Yankees. The Dodgers carried Game 2 behind three home runs and a dominant start by Yoshinobu Yamamoto, but saw Shohei Ohtani injure his shoulder on a late-inning slide. Freddie Freeman’s walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning of Game 1 opened the World Series and got us off to a wild start.
Both teams had plenty of time off before the World Series. The Yankees ousted the Cleveland Guardians last Saturday in ALCS Game 5 to capture their first American League pennant in 15 years. The Dodgers won the NL pennant last Sunday, knocking out the New York Mets in Game 6 of the NLCS. The Dodgers, who won 98 games in the regular season, have home-field advantage in this matchup.
