Dodgers embrace Evil Empire persona by giving away literal Death Star

The Los Angeles Dodgers have certainly made a statement with their promotional schedule this year, showcasing their lack of subtlety in the best way possible.

As the reigning World Series champions, the Dodgers recently unveiled their ticket package lineup, featuring the usual lineup of heritage nights, L.A. Kings night, and teacher appreciation day. However, it was the Star Wars night giveaway that stole the spotlight.

On May 14, prior to a game against the Athletics, the Dodgers will be gifting fans a literal Death Star that will hover over Dodger Stadium, adding an extra touch of excitement to the game.

Interestingly, the Death Star giveaways will be part of a specific ticket package, rather than a general stadium-wide offering like bobbleheads.

The Dodgers have always been known for going above and beyond with their promotional efforts, and this year is certainly no exception. With a whopping 21 bobbleheads on the schedule, fans can expect to see a bobblehead for more than a quarter of the team’s 80 regular-season games at Dodger Stadium in 2025.

The lineup of bobbleheads includes a variety of notable figures such as Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Vin Scully, and even Kobe Bryant. The Dodgers have truly spared no expense in making this season one to remember, both on and off the field.

With significant investments in players like Snell, Sasaki, and Hernández during the offseason, the Dodgers are poised to make history by potentially becoming the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles since 2000. Their dedication to success is evident, and even drawing complaints from the owner of the New York Yankees, further solidifying their reputation as a powerhouse in MLB.
