We are halfway through The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, and it has been an exciting tournament so far.
Min Woo Lee and Akshay Bhatia have surged up the leaderboard and are tied for the lead at 11-under heading into Moving Day. Rory McIlroy is not far behind at 9-under, along with Collin Morikawa and Alex Smalley. J.J. Spaun is just one shot back in third place.
On Friday, Justin Thomas made a remarkable comeback with a 10-under 62 after an opening-round 78. His round matched the course record at TPC Sawgrass, marking the largest improvement between the first and second rounds in the event’s history. Despite his impressive performance, Thomas is still seven shots off the lead.
The cut line closed at 1-under, sending big names like Hideki Matsuyama, Adam Scott, Ludvig Åberg, Max Homa, and Tony Finau home early. Wyndham Clark also withdrew during the second round while trailing behind the projected cutline.
