Scoring a hole in one or an albatross is rare in golf. However, Chandler Phillips achieved an even more remarkable feat by carding three eagles in a single round during the opening day of The Players Championship.
This historic achievement marks the first time a player has ever recorded three eagles in a round at The Players, according to the PGA Tour.
Phillips managed to eagle three of the four par 5s at TPC Sawgrass, including the challenging 611-yard ninth hole. His round also included four birdies, three bogeys, and a triple bogey, ultimately placing him at 4-under and tied for ninth place.

His remarkable performance included a 38-foot eagle putt on the 16th hole, followed by a chip-in eagle on the second hole of his back nine. Phillips capped off his round with a pinpoint approach on the ninth, setting up an easy eagle putt from four feet away.
At 28 years old, Phillips is in his second year on the PGA Tour and is currently ranked 170th in the world. He is eager to secure his first career victory in professional golf.
Even though Jordan Spieth also recorded two eagles during his round, he faced challenges and ended the day at 2-under due to a couple of double bogeys.
