Will Cristiano Ronaldo join Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami for Club World Cup?

Reports have surfaced suggesting that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi could potentially become teammates at Inter Miami, despite their long-standing rivalry in the world of football.

Ronaldo, currently playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, is rumored to be considering a move to join Messi at Inter Miami in the United States ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

While these rumors may seem far-fetched given the history between the two players, in the world of modern football, financial incentives often drive decisions.

But is there any truth to the speculation linking Ronaldo with a move to Inter Miami?

Despite the speculation, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Ronaldo will not be making a move to Inter Miami for the Club World Cup this summer on a short-term contract.

Romano stated on social media, “Reports of Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi playing together at Inter Miami for the Club World Cup on a short-term deal are unfounded. There is no truth to these stories.”

Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr will expire at the end of June, making him a free agent available to sign with another club, although the Club World Cup begins before his current deal ends in Saudi Arabia.

It is expected that Ronaldo will renew his contract with Al Nassr before the expiration date, as he is far from retiring at the age of 40. The Portuguese star is likely to continue playing until at least the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

It is anticipated that Ronaldo will sign a new contract with Al Nassr before his current deal expires, as he shows no signs of slowing down. The Portuguese star has been prolific for Al Nassr, scoring 92 goals in 103 matches since joining the Saudi Pro League.

Currently earning €3.85 million per week with Al Nassr, it remains to be seen if Ronaldo will negotiate a higher salary in his new contract, as well as the duration of the deal.

While there were rumors of Ronaldo signing a short-term deal with a Club World Cup team before re-signing with Al Nassr, these speculations have been debunked, especially regarding a move to David Beckham’s MLS franchise.
