Kevin De Bruyne’s final Manchester derby was one to forget for the Manchester City playmaker.
De Bruyne, who announced his departure from Manchester City before the game, started the match but failed to make an impact as City drew 0-0 with Manchester United.
Despite the spotlight on De Bruyne, he, like many others, underperformed in the disappointing clash between the rivals.
For De Bruyne, it was the first time in seven years that he failed to create a chance in a full Premier League match.
This was the first time in 88 games that De Bruyne played the full 90 minutes without creating a scoring chance for his teammates.
Despite the disappointing end to his Manchester derby career, De Bruyne received praise from United captain Bruno Fernandes.
“De Bruyne has made the Premier League better,” Fernandes said. “He deserves credit for City’s success and his world-class performances.”
“He’s a pleasure to watch and play against, and he will be remembered as one of the best in Premier League history.”
“He will leave a lasting legacy at Manchester City and in the Premier League.”
