Fabian Edwards has his eyes set on new challenges.
In a thrilling main event at the 2025 PFL World Tournament 3, Edwards (14-4) defeated former light heavyweight champion Impa Kasanganay (18-6) with a series of punches at 2:14 of Round 2. The showdown unfolded in Orlando, Florida.
Edwards now advances to the middleweight tournament semifinal on June 27, where he will meet Josh Silveira.
The fight was nothing short of intense. Edwards landed a brutal elbow that caused a deep cut on Kasanganay’s forehead, leading to a medical examination between rounds. Despite the setback, Kasanganay was cleared to continue the fight.
Although Kasanganay initially rocked Edwards, it was Edwards who ultimately emerged victorious. Finding his rhythm with his left hand, Edwards managed to drop Kasanganay and secure the win with a flurry of punches.
With this win, 32-year-old Edwards improves to a 5-2 record in his last seven fights, with his only losses coming against Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen.
On the other hand, Kasanaganay has suffered consecutive defeats, including a loss in the 2024 PFL light heavyweight championship match against Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov.
