Ian Machado Garry ‘steaming red’ to not get UFC 315 title shot, vows to make example of Carlos Prates

Ian Machado Garry had hoped to be competing for the UFC welterweight title by now, but after his last fight at UFC 309, things took a different turn. Despite his loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov, Garry’s performance impressed many, leading to a rise in his stock. However, he was disappointed when Jack Della Maddalena was given the next title shot instead of him.

Garry will now face Carlos Prates in the short-notice main event at UFC Kansas City on April 26. He expressed his frustration at the welterweight title picture and how the situation unfolded leading up to UFC 315. Despite the setback, Garry remains determined and ready to show the world what he’s capable of.

New contenders like Prates and Sean Brady have emerged in the welterweight division, with Brady securing the No. 1 contender spot after a dominant win over Leon Edwards. Garry is unfazed by Brady’s comments and is focused on his upcoming fight with Prates.

While Garry respects Prates, he is confident in his own abilities and believes he is superior. He accepted the fight without knowing his opponent beforehand and is prepared to make a statement in the octagon. Garry is ready to bounce back from his first career loss and show that he belongs among the top contenders in the welterweight division.

Thinking of him as an adversary, I can’t help but feel confident in my abilities. I am one of the top welterweights globally, and when he faces me in the Octagon on April 26, it’s make or break for him. Every time I step into that Octagon, I deliver a phenomenal performance, and I have no doubt that I will finish him this time too.

The future of the welterweight title picture hinges on Rakhmonov’s situation. While “The Nomad” may still be the frontrunner after his injury recovery, I believe that my upcoming fight will solidify me as the undeniable choice.

After knocking out Prates and coming off a tough battle with Shavkat, which resulted in his injury, the question arises – who should Belal fight next? Sean Brady or Ian Machado Garry? The answer is clear – it’s me. I bring the excitement, I stir emotions, and I am determined to prove that I am the best welterweight in the world.
