At UFC 314, Paddy Pimblett secured his ninth consecutive victory, delivering a brutal defeat to Michael Chandler in Miami. The No. 12-ranked lightweight dominated his opponent, ultimately ending the fight with a third-round stoppage, marking a career-defining win for Pimblett.

The initial round saw both fighters trading blows, with Pimblett landing powerful leg kicks and Chandler showcasing his skills with a well-executed takedown. However, it was Pimblett who took control after the first five minutes, asserting his dominance both on the feet and on the ground throughout the second round.

The third round proved to be even more one-sided, as Pimblett unleashed a devastating knee that split Chandler’s face open early on. Relentlessly pursuing his opponent, Pimblett eventually secured the victory in a commanding fashion.

Following his impressive performance, Pimblett wasted no time in calling out top contenders in the lightweight division, expressing his desire for a shot at the world title. He specifically named Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira, and Arman Tsarukyan before setting his sights on Oliveira as his preferred opponent.

On the other hand, Chandler’s UFC journey has been met with mixed results, with the former Bellator champion now holding a record of 2-5 in the promotion. Despite facing tough competition and experiencing delays in securing significant matchups, Chandler’s future as a contender remains uncertain at 38 years old.
