Tennis icon Andre Agassi is gearing up for his next challenge by stepping into the world of pro pickleball. With eight Grand Slam titles under his belt, Agassi is set to make his professional pickleball debut at the upcoming U.S. Open Pickleball Championships in Naples, Florida on April 30. Partnering with 18-year-old sensation Anna Leigh Waters, Agassi is ready to showcase his skills in the doubles match.
Agassi is no stranger to the sport of pickleball, having previously participated in the groundbreaking Pickleball Slam event in 2023 alongside tennis legends Michael Chang, John McEnroe, and Andy Roddick, which was aired on ESPN for the first time.
Since then, Agassi has developed a passion for pickleball, even releasing his own professional pickleball paddle in collaboration with JOOLA earlier this year.
Anna Leigh Waters, dubbed the best pickleball player in the world, is known for her dominant presence on the court. Holding the top rankings in singles, doubles, and mixed play, Waters has been a standout in the sport since the age of 12. Her aggressive style of play has revolutionized the game, making her the perfect partner for Agassi, known for his aggressive approach during his tennis career.
The U.S. Open Pickleball Championships kick off this Saturday and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. Fans can catch Agassi and Waters in action at noon ET.
