Reports suggest that Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane has turned down offers from both Arsenal and Liverpool in order to prolong his stay in the Bundesliga.
Sane’s contract is set to expire this summer, and there were previous speculations that he might be let go by Bayern as they looked to offload one of their wingers due to his lack of regular playing time under Vincent Kompany.
Despite being free to negotiate with other clubs, Sane has attracted interest from Arsenal, where he previously worked with manager Mikel Arteta at Manchester City. There were also rumors linking him to Manchester United and reports of Liverpool’s interest earlier in the year.
However, Sane is said to have opted for an extension with Bayern. Renowned journalist Christian Falk revealed that the winger has rejected offers from Arsenal and Liverpool to commit to the Bundesliga champions until 2028.
To secure his future with Bayern, Sane is believed to have agreed to a significant reduction in salary. His decision was influenced by teammates Harry Kane and close friend Jamal Musiala, who advocated for his contract extension.

Under Kompany’s management, Sane has made 16 Bundesliga starts and 11 substitute appearances this season, contributing ten goals and five assists. His impact has been more pronounced in 2025, establishing himself as a key player for the team.
The potential signing of Sane could have been significant for both Arsenal and Liverpool, who are in search of attacking reinforcements. However, they will now have to look elsewhere for alternatives.
Arsenal is reportedly interested in Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, while Liverpool is focusing on securing a central striker following Mohamed Salah’s contract extension at Anfield.
