The UFC is currently undergoing another round of roster cuts in an effort to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of mixed martial arts. With a constantly growing roster and new talent emerging, staying competitive in the UFC is a challenging feat. Today, two veterans have been let go, shedding light on the harsh reality of the business side of the sport. Each fight is crucial, as even a minor losing streak can alter a fighter’s entire career.

Kevin Jousset and Guram Kutateladze are the latest casualties, as reported by Borrachinha Depot on X. Jousset, also known as ‘Air,’ hails from France and competed in the UFC’s welterweight division. Despite a promising start with a submission victory in his debut, he accumulated a 2-4 record in the Octagon, culminating in a recent loss to Jonothan Micallef.

Guram Kutateladze, the ‘Georgian Viking,’ saw his UFC journey come to an end with a 2-3 record in the lightweight division. While he made a strong impression by defeating a top contender in his debut, a series of tough fights led to his eventual departure after a loss to Kaue Fernandes.

These recent cuts serve as a stark reminder that the UFC is a results-driven industry. Both fighters may seek opportunities in other prominent promotions like PFL, Bellator, or ONE Championship. Given their skills and reputation, they may soon resurface in the MMA world.

The business side of the sport can be unforgiving, but fighters like Jousset and Kutateladze have the resilience to bounce back and continue their careers elsewhere.
