Dodgers’ Teoscar Hernández going to 10-day IL due to left groin strain

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Teoscar Hernández has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a left groin strain, as announced by the team. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated that Hernández suffered a Grade 1 adductor strain and will be inactive for a period of time.

Hernández sustained the injury during Monday’s game against the Miami Marlins, feeling tightness in his left leg while chasing down a line drive. Chris Taylor replaced Hernández in the field following the injury. Prior to the incident, Hernández seemed to be in good form while running the bases.

Hernández, who signed a three-year, $66 million deal with the Dodgers in the offseason, has had a strong start to the 2025 season, boasting a .315 batting average with a .933 OPS, 10 doubles, nine home runs, and 34 RBI. In his first season with L.A., Hernández hit 33 home runs and contributed significantly to the team’s offense.

To fill Hernández’s spot on the roster, outfielder James Outman was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Outman had been performing well in the minors before his promotion. The Dodgers also recalled pitchers J.P. Feyereisen and Landon Knack from Triple-A to strengthen their pitching staff.

Feyereisen, who was with the Dodgers last season before briefly joining the Arizona Diamondbacks, has returned to the team. Knack, who has had multiple appearances for the Dodgers this season, is expected to pitch in the upcoming game as either a starter or for a significant portion of the innings, according to Roberts.
