Two fierce rivals, Brendan Allen and Marvin Vettori, are set to face off in a highly anticipated middleweight clash at UFC 318 on July 19 in New Orleans.
Sources familiar with the UFC’s plans have confirmed this exciting matchup, which was first reported by MMA Mania.
The animosity between Allen and Vettori began when they were initially scheduled to fight at UFC Vegas 90. Although the bout was canceled due to Vettori’s withdrawal, their rivalry only intensified over time.
Their feud escalated to a physical altercation at a casino during a PFL event in Florida, fueling anticipation for their upcoming showdown.
Both fighters are eager to settle their differences inside the Octagon, as they aim to bounce back from recent losses.
Allen, who hails from Louisiana, is coming off two consecutive decision losses after a seven-fight win streak, while Vettori has struggled with a 1-3 record in his last four fights, including losses to Roman Dolidze and Jared Cannonier.
The fight holds special significance for Allen, as he returns to his hometown where he began his MMA journey alongside UFC 318 headliner Dustin Poirier, who will be competing in his retirement fight against Max Holloway in the main event.
