Jamahal Hill had an awkward encounter with his upcoming opponent Khalil Rountree recently. The light heavyweights are set to face off on June 21 in the UFC on ABC 8 headliner at Baku Crystal Hall in Baku.
Hill shared his experience of the encounter at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas, where Rountree accused him of not liking him. Hill was taken aback by the accusation as they had never even had a conversation before.
Despite the tension, Hill remains unfazed by Rountree’s attempts to portray him as a villain to build up the fight. He finds it odd that Rountree would create unnecessary drama with the UFC staff, claiming they can’t be around each other without something happening.
Both fighters are looking to bounce back from recent stoppage losses. Hill suffered a TKO defeat to Jiri Prochazka at UFC 311, while Rountree was TKO’d by Alex Pereira in their title fight at UFC 307.
