Charlie Woods, the son of golf legend Tiger Woods, recently competed in the U.S. Open regional qualifying event at Wellington National Golf Club in Florida. Despite finishing seven strokes over the qualifying score of 68, the 16-year-old showed improvement from his previous attempt, where he shot a 9-over 81.
Although Charlie did not advance to the final qualifying event at Emerald Dunes in West Palm Beach, Florida, on June 2, he made a name for himself in the golfing world. Other notable participants in the qualifying event include former NFL quarterback Tony Romo, New York Rangers forward J.T. Miller, and former tennis pro Mardy Fish.
Charlie Woods gained attention last year for hitting his first hole-in-one during the PNC Championship, playing alongside his father Tiger Woods. However, Tiger is currently recovering from surgery and will not be able to participate in any major tournaments this year.
Despite this setback, Charlie is set to compete in the Team TaylorMade Invitational in Bowling Green, Florida, later this month. As for the U.S. Open, the 2025 edition will take place at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, with Bryson DeChambeau looking to defend his title.
