MONTREAL – Valentina Shevchenko remains undecided about a potential champion vs. champion super fight against Zhang Weili, following her successful title defense at UFC 315.
Shevchenko, after her victory, expressed openness to the idea of facing Weili, but also mentioned considering other options and taking time to make the right decision for her next career move.
“After a fight and securing the victory, it’s important for me to take a few days to rest and recover before making any decisions,” Shevchenko stated during the post-fight press conference. “Proper timing and preparation are key for me.”
In her title defense against Manon Fiorot at UFC 315, Shevchenko showcased her dominance in the flyweight division, capturing her 10th UFC championship victory.
Shevchenko also mentioned the possibility of facing Natalia Silva, who scored a win over Alexa Grasso on the same night. She encouraged fans to share their opinions on potential matchups.
As the reigning UFC women’s flyweight champion, Shevchenko is determined to continue her legacy in the sport and has no plans of retiring anytime soon.
“I’m here to stay and keep pushing forward. This is just the beginning for me,” she affirmed.
