Olympic Gold Medalist Kyle Snyder Issues Statement Following Recent Arrest
Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder has broken his silence after his recent arrest in a prostitution sting. Snyder, 29, was apprehended on May 9 by the Columbus Division of Police as part of an undercover operation that led to the arrest of 15 individuals.
In a statement shared on his social media pages, Snyder expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support he has received. “My focus is on my relationship with the Lord Jesus and my family. This is not the end of my journey,” he wrote, referencing 1 Peter 4:17-18.
According to authorities, Snyder was caught responding to an online ad offering sexual services for payment. The ad was posted by the Police And Community Together Unit, and Snyder allegedly communicated with an undercover officer to arrange a meeting at a hotel where he exchanged cash for services and was subsequently arrested.
Snyder’s wrestling career has been illustrious, with Olympic gold in 2016 making him the youngest U.S. wrestling champion in history. His accomplishments also include three world championships, seven Pan American championships, and three NCAA Division I titles.
Snyder is scheduled to appear in court on May 19 to address the charges against him.
