Another day, another incredible moment at Quail Hollow.
Si Woo Kim made magic happen on the tee box at the 6th hole during Friday afternoon’s round. Kim executed a flawless shot on the 252-yard par 3, landing his ball softly on the green and sinking a hole-in-one with precision.
Once the ball disappeared into the cup, Kim’s excitement was palpable. He joyfully tossed his fairway wood into the air and sprinted towards the next tee box in celebration.
This hole-in-one marked Kim’s sixth on the PGA Tour and his second at a major championship, solidifying his reputation as a master of the game. In fact, no other player has achieved as many aces on Tour since 2016.
With this remarkable shot, Kim soared to 6-under for the day and 5-under for the tournament, putting him just three strokes behind the early leader, Jhonattan Vegas. As Kim finishes up his second round, all eyes are on his impressive performance.
Despite his success, Kim has faced challenges this season with only one top-10 finish and missed cuts at the last two PGA Championships. However, his talent and determination are evident in moments like this ace at Quail Hollow.
Notably, Kim’s hole-in-one is the second of the tournament, following Eric Cole’s ace at the par-3 fourth hole on Thursday. Cole, like Kim, showcased his skill and precision with this rare and remarkable feat.
