The Boston Red Sox have made a roster move on Thursday by optioning Tyler Heineman and Isaiah Campbell and reinstating Connor Wong. However, it seems that another move is on the horizon.
According to Andrew Parker of Beyond the Monster, the Red Sox are bringing up left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn from Triple-A Worcester.
Horn, 26, was acquired earlier this season in a trade with the Chicago White Sox for cash considerations.
With impressive numbers in Worcester this year – a 1.69 ERA and 1.125 WHIP in 16 innings over 12 appearances – Horn is poised to make an impact. Despite struggling with the White Sox’s Triple-A affiliate in Charlotte at the start of the season, he has shown significant improvement.
Expected to provide additional left-handed depth in the bullpen following Cam Booser’s recent demotion, Horn brings a new dynamic to the pitching staff.
