Throughout the season the CBS Sports MLB experts will bring you a weekly Batting Around roundtable breaking down pretty much anything.

Where will Garrett Crochet be after the trade deadline?

R.J. Anderson: The Orioles strike me as an obvious suitor who could get a deal done if they wanted to do so. They have the prospect depth to make a move without harming their long-term interests, and Crochet would fit in nicely with his years of control and high-octane arsenal. The only real question is whether they trust him to hold up, given his lack of experience with a high innings count in the big leagues.

Dayn Perry: I’ll guess the Dodgers. Their current injury situation means they need rotation help right now. They have depth when healthy, and their lead in the division allows them to manage Crochet’s workload. It’s uncertain whether he can stay healthy and effective as his innings increase, but the Dodgers prioritize upside over certainty for a deep postseason run.

Matt Snyder: I’ll go with the Orioles. Despite concerns about prospect hoarding, Mike Elias could benefit from dealing with Chris Getz and their strong minor-league depth. The Orioles’ farm system remained strong after trading for Corbin Burnes, and a similar deal could provide rotation depth they need.

Mike Axisa: I’m going to say the Astros.
