Novak Djokovic has had to bow out of the French Open due to a right knee injury, ending his title defense and relinquishing his No. 1 ranking. This setback means his quest to win all four major tournaments in a year will have to wait until 2025. The knee injury forced Djokovic to withdraw from the clay court Grand Slam, where he was scheduled to face Casper Ruud in the quarterfinals. Ruud will now receive a walkover to the semifinals.

In Djokovic’s absence, Jannik Sinner is set to take over the No. 1 spot in the ATP rankings. Meanwhile, Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff are gearing up for a rematch of the 2023 final at Roland Garros. Swiatek, the world No. 1, has been dominant on the clay courts, while Gauff, the world No. 3, is looking to avenge her previous loss to Swiatek.

In another exciting development, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets to set up a semifinal showdown with Jannik Sinner. Both players are aiming to reach their first French Open final, adding to the suspense and excitement of the tournament.
