Following their series in Zimbabwe, India is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka. A young Indian team is currently in Zimbabwe for a five-match T20I series before heading to the Island nation. The main Indian squad, fresh off their T20 World Cup 2024 victory, will return to action for the series against Sri Lanka.
India is set to play three ODIs and three T20Is against Sri Lanka from July 27 to August 7.

Will Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma be part of the Sri Lanka series?
According to reports from The Indian Express, key players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah are likely to be rested for the series. Virat and Rohit retired from T20Is after the World Cup win and will also be absent from the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
The selection committee will finalize the squad for the Sri Lanka tour in the upcoming week.

Reports suggest that either KL Rahul or Hardik Pandya could lead India in the ODI series. Hardik Pandya, who served as the vice-captain during the T20 World Cup, is likely to captain the T20I team. With Rohit missing from the ODIs, either Hardik or KL Rahul is expected to take over the leadership role.
