Rahul Dravid bid farewell as the head coach of the Indian cricket team in a glorious manner by leading India to victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados, defeating South Africa in the final.
During his tenure starting from 2021, Dravid guided India to the final of the World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle and the 2023 ODI World Cup final, where they were unfortunately defeated by Australia on both occasions.
As the iconic Indian cricketer’s coaching stint concludes, the BCCI is on the verge of appointing Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of IPL 2024 champions KKR, as the new national head coach.

Is Rahul Dravid replacing Gautam Gambhir at KKR?
According to a report by News18 Bangla, the current IPL title holders KKR have reportedly approached Rahul Dravid to take over the mentorship role left vacant by Gautam Gambhir, who is set to lead the Indian team.
The report suggests that KKR, along with other IPL teams, have made offers to the 51-year-old. It is rumored that KKR has offered Dravid a significantly higher salary than what he was earning as the Indian head coach.
It remains to be seen whether Dravid will accept a position in the IPL and make a return to franchise cricket ahead of the IPL 2025 season.
