Evan Mobley, the rising star of the Cleveland Cavaliers, has reached new heights – both on and off the court.

The 23-year-old forward/center recently signed a lucrative five-year, $224 million rookie-scale extension with the Cavaliers, with the potential to earn up to $270 million based on performance incentives, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Last season, Mobley showcased his talent by averaging 15.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game, leading the Cavaliers to the second round of the playoffs. Despite their eventual loss to the Boston Celtics, Mobley’s performance was stellar, with a standout 33-point game in the series.

Looking ahead, Mobley will be playing under new head coach Kenny Atkinson after the departure of J.B. Bickerstaff. One key question surrounding Mobley’s future is his role alongside starting center Jarrett Allen. The Cavaliers have faced challenges with both players on the court simultaneously, but Mobley’s versatility and potential for developing a consistent 3-point shot could be the key to their coexistence.

Defensively, Mobley has already proven his prowess, earning All-Defensive first team honors and finishing third in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2023. With his skills on both ends of the floor, Mobley is poised for a bright future in the NBA.
