Evan Mobley Signs Five-Year Extension with Cleveland Cavaliers

Exciting news for Cleveland Cavaliers fans as Evan Mobley has officially re-signed with the team. The five-year contract extension is a max deal worth a projected $224 million, potentially rising to $269 million based on performance criteria.

Joining other 2021 draft class members like Cade Cunningham and Scottie Barnes, Mobley has shown impressive stats with 18.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.8 combined blocks and steals per 36 minutes last season. Known for his elite defense, the Cavaliers are eager to see his offensive skills continue to develop.

Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations, Koby Altman, expressed his excitement about securing Mobley as a cornerstone of the franchise. The extension follows Donovan Mitchell’s signing earlier in the offseason, solidifying the team’s future.

Looking ahead, new coach Kenny Atkinson will have the task of maximizing the talents of Mobley, Mitchell, Darius Garland, and Jarrett Allen on both ends of the court. The team’s decision to keep their core players intact reflects a commitment to long-term success.

Notable Players Yet to Sign Extensions

While Mobley secures his future with the Cavaliers, other members of the 2021 draft class are still in negotiations. Players like Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga, and Jalen Suggs are among those who have not yet agreed to extensions.
