Jackson Holliday Set to Return to Baltimore Orioles
According to a report by the Baltimore Banner, Jackson Holliday is poised to make a comeback with the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday. This will mark his first return to the big leagues since being demoted in April following a challenging start to his MLB career.
The 20-year-old prospect struggled during his initial stint with the Orioles in April, batting .059 with just two hits, one RBI, and 18 strikeouts in 34 at-bats. However, he has since excelled in Triple-A, boasting a solid .271/.431/.477 slash line with 10 home runs, 38 RBIs, and 75 walks in 73 games.
Holliday, the son of former MLB All-Star Matt Holliday, is expected to rejoin the Orioles as they wrap up a series against the Toronto Blue Jays before embarking on a 10-game road trip.
Following recent roster changes, Holliday’s call-up comes after the Orioles traded Connor Norby and shifted Holliday to second base. With high expectations as the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 draft, Holliday has shown promise in the minors and is eager to make his mark in the majors.
With the Orioles currently leading the AL East, Holliday’s return could provide a much-needed boost as they push for a postseason berth.
