The women’s Olympic golf competition starts on Wednesday at Le Golf National in Paris, with defending gold medalist Nelly Korda from the United States leading the way.

Korda, currently ranked as the world No. 1, won the gold medal in Tokyo in 2021, defeating Mone Inami from Japan and Lydia Ko from New Zealand by one shot. Ko won silver in Rio in 2016.

Korda will tee off in the sixth group on Wednesday at 3:55 a.m. ET alongside Jin Young Ko from Korea and Ruoning Yin from China. She has had a successful season on the LPGA Tour, winning six times, including the Chevron Championship, her second major title.

Two other Americans, Lilia Vu (5:55 a.m. ET) and Rose Zhang (3:44 a.m. ET), are also part of the 60-player field.

France’s Céline Boutier, ranked seventh in the world, will begin her first round playing with Vu and Amy Yang.

Similar to the men’s competition, the women’s tournament will consist of 72-hole stroke play without a cut, allowing all 60 participants to compete in all four rounds.

The women’s event will conclude on Saturday, following Scottie Scheffler’s gold medal win in the men’s competition, with Tommy Fleetwood from Great Britain taking silver and Hideki Matsuyama from Japan earning bronze.
