Abus Magomedov has officially joined the lineup for UFC 308, where he will be facing Brunno Ferreira on Oct. 26. This news was confirmed by sources familiar with the situation, following a report by Laerte Viana.
UFC 308’s main event will feature Ilia Topuria vs. Max Holloway for the featherweight championship, while Robert Whittaker will take on Khamzat Chimaev in the co-main event. The event is scheduled to take place at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena.
Ferreira (12-1) was originally slated to fight Roman Kopylov on Aug. 24, but had to withdraw due to illness.
Known as “Hulk,” Ferreira has impressed with first-round knockouts in his recent UFC fights, earning performance bonuses for his dominant victories over Phil Hawes and Dustin Stoltzfus.
Magomedov (26-6-1) secured a victory over Warlley Alves in his last fight in May, bouncing back from consecutive decision losses to Caio Borralho and Sean Strickland.
The 33-year-old Dagestani fighter has a reputation for finishing fights, with 14 of his 26 MMA wins coming by way of knockout. His octagon debut saw a quick 19-second stoppage of Stoltzfus.
