Sri Lanka has recently revealed their 16-man squad for the upcoming ODI series against India, set to commence on August 2nd. Charith Asalanka, the newly appointed T20I captain, has been entrusted with leading the team in white-ball cricket for the ODIs.
Replacing Kusal Mendis as the new ODI skipper, the 27-year-old Asalanka will make his debut as captain in the first ODI against India. The Sri Lankan team will be eager to bounce back after a series loss in the T20Is.

On the other hand, India will witness the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the squad since their T20 World Cup victory in Barbados. The star batsmen will be absent from T20I cricket following their retirement from the format.
Gautam Gambhir is also set to make his coaching debut in ODIs after a successful stint in the shorter format of the game.
