Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon has officially announced that quarterback Kyler Murray will not be playing in the team’s preseason opener against the New Orleans Saints.
This decision opens up opportunities for Desmond Ridder and Clayton Tune, who have both faced challenges during Cards Camp 2024.
The focus now shifts to how much playing time we can expect to see from Marvin Harrison Jr. during the preseason, especially with Ridder leading the offense.
Given Harrison Jr’s talent, it’s possible that a few series in the first couple of games will be enough to prepare him for the regular season opener against the Buffalo Bills.
However, considering the struggles of Ridder and Tune, the effectiveness of Harrison Jr’s reps with them remains uncertain.
It will be interesting to see how Coach Gannon and his staff decide to utilize the starters in the upcoming preseason game, knowing that Murray will not be part of the lineup.
