Kevin Durant recently secured a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, adding to his impressive list of achievements. However, Durant’s success extends beyond the basketball court as he has ventured into the realm of soccer by becoming a minority investor in the renowned French club, Paris Saint-Germain.

The announcement of Durant’s investment was made through Boardroom, his media and entertainment company, on Monday. This investment, facilitated by Durant and his business partner Rich Kleiman through Arctos Partners, involved acquiring a 12.5% stake in PSG, valued in the “single-digit millions,” as reported.

In addition to his PSG investment, Durant holds minority ownership positions in other soccer teams, including the MLS club Philadelphia Union and NWSL club NJ/NY Gotham FC. Furthermore, Durant has stakes in the Major League Pickleball club Brooklyn Aces.

PSG, a dominant force in European soccer, has claimed six consecutive Ligue 1 titles and is valued at $4.05 billion, making it the seventh most valuable soccer club globally according to Sportico. The majority ownership of the club rests with Qatar Sports Investments, who acquired PSG in 2011.

Despite the departure of star player Kylian Mbappé to Real Madrid, PSG is poised for continued success in Ligue 1.
