Manchester United’s new signing, Morocco full-back Noussair Mazraoui, made his debut for the club just days after reuniting with his former Ajax manager Erik Ten Hag.

The 26-year-old started at right-back in the season opener against Fulham, with Diogo Dalot filling in at left-back due to Luke Shaw’s calf injury.

Captain Harry Maguire returned from injury to partner Lisandro Martinez in defense, while Marcus Rashford led the line alongside Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes, and Mason Mount in the absence of a recognized striker.

Notable summer signings Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee were named among the substitutes, but Jadon Sancho was left out of the squad amid transfer speculation.

Manchester United Starting XI: Onana; Dalot, Maguire, Martinez, Mazraoui; Casemiro, Mainoo; Diallo, Fernandes, Mount; Rashford.

Substitutes: Bayindir, De Ligt, Zirkzee, Eriksen, Garnacho, Antony, Evans, McTominay, Collyer.

Fulham’s new signing from Arsenal, Emile Smith Rowe, earned a starting spot, with Jorge Cuenca and Josh King featuring on the bench.

Fulham Starting XI: Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Lukic, Adama; Iwobi, Pereira, Smith Rowe; Muniz.

Substitutes: Benda, Reed, Jimenez, Wilson, Cairney, Cuenca, Castagne, King, Stansfield.
