Following a tough weekend where the Boston Red Sox were swept by the Houston Astros, Alex Cora’s team is gearing up to face the Texas Rangers in a three-game series at Fenway Park starting on Monday.
For the opening game, Boston will send Brayan Bello to the mound while Texas will counter with Tyler Mahle.
Here’s the lineup for the series opener as announced by Cora:
- David Hamilton SS
- Masataka Yoshida DH
- Rob Refsnyder LF
- Rafael Devers 3B
- Connor Wong C
- Wilyer Abreu RF
- Dom Smith 1B
- Nick Sogard 2B
- Ceddanne Rafaela CF
And here’s the lineup for the Rangers led by Bruce Bochy:
- Marcus Semien 2B
- Corey Seager SS
- Josh Smith 3B
- Adolis Garcia RF
- Nathaniel Lowe 1B
- Josh Jung DH
- Wyatt Langford LF

Bello has had some struggles this season but has shown improvement recently, allowing three or fewer runs in his last five starts. Among the Rangers, Ezequiel Duran, Adolis Garcia, Jonah Heim, and others have recorded hits against him.
Meanwhile, Mahle has only made one start for the Rangers this year but put on a solid performance against the Astros. Romy Gonzalez and Dom Smith are the only Red Sox players with hits against him in his career.
