The New York Mets and Seattle Mariners are set to face off in the 2025 Little League Classic in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, as announced by MLB on Sunday night. The game, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 17, will serve as a home game for the Mets.
Following the tradition of the Little League Classic, players from both teams will attend Little League World Series games earlier in the day and take part in activities aimed at promoting the growth of the game at the youth level.
The Little League Classic will be held at Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field, a facility that received extensive renovations from Major League Baseball before the inaugural event in 2017. This upcoming game will mark the eighth edition of the Little League Classic, with the event not taking place during the 2020 pandemic season.
For the Mets, this will be their second appearance in the Little League Classic, having previously defeated the NL East rivals, the Philadelphia Phillies, in the 2018 edition. On the other hand, the Mariners will be making their debut in Williamsport.
The Little League World Series, an international tournament for children aged 10-12, is a highlight in Williamsport’s annual calendar every August.
