In an exciting BIG3 championship showdown on Sunday, Bivouac emerged as the new titleholder by holding off 3’s Company to secure a 50-47 victory. The game saw Bivouac maintain a double-digit lead in the second half and ultimately clinch the three-on-three league’s coveted crown.
The defining moment came when Garlon Green, a standout from TCU, sank a game-winning bank shot to propel Bivouac to victory. Green’s stellar performance included 13 points and five rebounds in the championship clash held at the iconic TD Garden in Boston.
Notably, former NBA player Gerald Green led the charge for Bivouac with an impressive tally of 18 points and was rightfully named the MVP of the championship contest. Green, a seasoned veteran drafted 18th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft, showcased his skills honed over a 12-year career with the Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, and Phoenix Suns.
3’s Company faced an uphill battle after trailing 26-13 at halftime, but a remarkable comeback led by former No. 2 overall pick Michael Beasley kept the game intense. Despite briefly holding a 47-46 lead, 3’s Company fell short as Bivouac managed to stave off defeat.
Beasley’s stellar performance included a game-high 28 points, along with 12 rebounds and three assists. The former Kansas State standout, who was crowned the league’s MVP in the regular season, stood out as the lone double-digit scorer for 3’s Company.
With a stellar 7-1 record, Bivouac clinched the championship title, closely followed by 3’s Company with a commendable 6-2 mark.
