Seahawks’ greatest nightmare has retired

An infamous nemesis of the Seattle Seahawks has decided to retire.

Hold on a second, isn’t Aaron Donald already retired?

Indeed, Donald has retired, but the Seahawks never quite figured out how to defeat Colt McCoy.

Colt McCoy, a former two-time Heisman Trophy finalist and 14-year NFL quarterback, has announced that he will be joining NBC Sports as an analyst for Big Ten Football coverage.

McCoy faced off against Pete Carroll’s Seahawks three times and emerged victorious on each occasion. Only Brock Purdy and Case Keenum share a similar record against Carroll’s teams.

What made McCoy a thorn in the Seahawks’ side wasn’t his passing prowess but rather his presence in some of the most dismal Seahawks performances during the Carroll era.

In McCoy’s first start against the Seahawks in 2011, playing for the Cleveland Browns, he contributed to a dismal 6-3 loss that is remembered as one of the worst games in NFL history.

Fast forward to 2020 when McCoy, now with the New York Giants, led his team to a surprising 17-12 victory over the heavily favored Seahawks.

The climax came in 2021 when McCoy, playing for the Arizona Cardinals, delivered a stellar performance against the Seahawks, resulting in a 23-13 victory for Arizona.

With both Aaron Donald and Colt McCoy retiring, it marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Seattle Seahawks.

We wish Colt McCoy a happy retirement and hope he stays in the broadcast booth rather than returning to haunt the Seahawks on the field.
