Napoli have secured the services of Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay in a deal worth around €30m (£25.4m).
After spending 22 years at United, McTominay, who progressed through the club’s youth system to become a key player in the first team, has bid farewell to Old Trafford.
During his time at United, the 27-year-old made 255 appearances and scored 29 goals, but has now decided to embark on a new chapter with Napoli.
In his final season at United, McTominay showcased his versatility by contributing 10 goals, proving his worth both in midfield and attack.
With United undergoing tactical changes, McTominay sought more playing time, leading to his move to Napoli just before the transfer deadline.
McTominay’s transfer is one of Napoli’s headline acquisitions in a challenging summer marked by their disappointing Serie A finish last season.
Under new coach Antonio Conte, Napoli are aiming to rejuvenate their performance on the pitch after a lackluster title defense.
