The New York Knicks are gearing up for the 2024-25 season with high hopes and expectations.
While they may not be the favorites to win the championship, the Knicks have a strong and revamped roster that positions them as potential contenders to reach the Eastern Conference Finals. And as we all know, once a team makes it to the NBA’s Final Four, anything can happen.
If the Knicks fall short of reaching the Conference Finals, it could be seen as a disappointment for the team.
However, Jalen Brunson, the Knicks’ leader, is not getting ahead of himself when it comes to setting goals for the season.
During an interview on “The Mark Jackson Show,” Brunson emphasized the importance of staying focused on short-term objectives.
“Our main goal is to take it one day at a time,” Brunson explained. “Looking too far ahead and fixating on winning a championship can be distracting. We need to focus on the present moment, tackle each game as it comes, and address the obstacles in our path before aiming for the ultimate prize.”
Brunson also highlighted the hunger and drive within the team, noting that everyone is motivated to prove their worth and succeed in New York.
“This summer, seeing all the guys putting in the work and demonstrating their dedication has been inspiring,” Brunson remarked. “We all share the same desire to win and make a mark in New York. It’s a challenging journey, but we are determined to give our all and do whatever it takes to achieve our goals.”
Brunson’s leadership skills have been commended since his arrival in New York, with teammates praising his ability to balance hard work, humility, confidence, and unity within the locker room.
By staying grounded and emphasizing gradual progress, Brunson is guiding the Knicks towards a successful season, focusing on continuous improvement rather than rushing towards the playoffs.
