Rodrygo has pledged to share his wisdom with Estevao after the prospective Chelsea forward made his debut for the senior Brazil team.
The 17-year-old came on as a substitute in Brazil’s 1-0 victory over Ecuador in FIFA World Cup qualifying earlier this week.
Estevao is set to join Chelsea from Palmeiras in the summer of 2025 for a fee that could rise to £51m, and his rise to prominence continues with this milestone for his national team.
Despite being only 23, Real Madrid winger Rodrygo is now considered one of the more experienced players in the Brazil squad.
In an interview with Lance, Rodrygo stated that he is committed to assisting the youngest players in adapting to their new environment.
“Even though I’m young at 23, I find myself as the most experienced in the group,” he remarked.
“You look at Estevao at 17, [Luiz] Henrique at 18. They are very young boys, so despite my age, I can share some of my experience with them.
“There are also older players who pass down their experience to me. It’s all about sharing responsibilities. Everyone knows their role and must take ownership. When we all do that, great things can be achieved.”
Although Estevao’s natural position is on the wing, his agent has confirmed that Chelsea will deploy him as an attacking midfielder upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge for the 2025/26 season.
