Kevin Durant says he would get rid of the Dallas Cowboys if there was promotion and relegation in the NFL

In a recent TV appearance, NBA All-Star Kevin Durant expressed his strong dislike for the Dallas Cowboys. Durant, who hails from Washington, D.C., revealed that he would eliminate the Cowboys if the NFL had a promotion/relegation system like international soccer. Being a die-hard Washington Commanders fan, Durant’s animosity towards the Cowboys stems from the fact that many in his local community have shifted their allegiance to Dallas instead of supporting the Commanders.

“I just don’t like ’em. I just don’t,” Durant remarked. “And I had to ask myself why I don’t like the Cowboys. Because I don’t hate any teams or any players. I’m a huge fan of a lot of teams. But the Cowboys are the one team I just don’t like.”

Durant went on to explain that the widespread support for the Cowboys in Washington, D.C., particularly among his peers, is what irks him the most. He emphasized the importance of loyalty to one’s local team and community.

The rivalry between the Cowboys and the Commanders dates back decades, with Washington having a strong rivalry with Dallas in the NFC East. The Cowboys currently lead the all-time series between the two teams.

Ironically, Durant’s criticism of fan loyalty is met with skepticism considering his own career decisions in the NBA. Known for switching teams, Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder to join the Golden State Warriors before moving on to play for the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns.
