The funeral of Sven-Goran Eriksson took place in his hometown of Torsby in Sweden, with 600 mourners including David Beckham and Roy Hodgson attending the service on Friday morning.
Eriksson passed away at the age of 76 on August 26, after revealing in January that he had been given a year to live due to cancer.
His father, Sven, and children, Lina and Johan, witnessed his coffin being taken to a local museum for speeches and eulogies after a guard of honour.
Eriksson, the first foreign manager of the England national team, made Beckham his captain and led the team to three consecutive quarter-finals in major tournaments.
Following his tenure with England, Eriksson managed Manchester City, Mexico, Leicester City, and various Chinese clubs, as well as coaching Ivory Coast and the Philippines.
A documentary titled ‘Sven’ was released on Amazon Prime Video, showcasing his successful career and the impact he had on players and fans alike.
In the documentary, Eriksson emphasizes remembering the good times and finding beauty in sadness.
