Brandon Royval, a recent title challenger, aimed to secure his position in the contender line by facing the undefeated Tatsuro Taira. Royval, also known as “Raw Dawg,” rebounded from a tough loss to Alexandre Pantoja with a narrow split decision victory over Brandon Moreno earlier this year.
Tatsuro Taira, a rising star in the UFC flyweight division, remained unbeaten with six consecutive wins in the promotion, boasting an impressive 16-0 record. His most notable victory came against Alex Perez, a former title challenger, due to an injury in Round 2.
Currently, Royval shares the No. 2 spot in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings for flyweight, while Taira aims to climb up from No. 8.
In the co-main event, Brad Tavares set a UFC middleweight record with his 25th appearance as he faced off against Jun Yong Park, also known as “The Iron Turtle.”
