The 2024 class of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame was inducted on Sunday in Springfield, Massachusetts. Originally scheduled for August 17, the ceremony was moved to October due to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Headlined by Vince Carter, this year’s class includes 13 individuals representing NBA and WNBA stars, as well as longtime college and high school coaches.

Vince Carter, known for his spectacular dunking, was an eight-time NBA All-Star, Olympic gold medalist, and 1999 Rookie of the Year during his 22 seasons in the league. He played for eight NBA teams and is the only player to have played in four different decades.

Michelle Timms, the International Committee Inductee, won two Olympic gold medals for Australia and played internationally with Germany’s Lotus München and the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury.

Chauncey Billups, who won the 2004 NBA championship with the Detroit Pistons, is a five-time All-Star and currently serves as the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Other inductees include Michael Cooper, Walter Davis, Harley Redin, Dick Barnett, Bo Ryan, Seimone Augustus, Jerry West, Charles Smith, Doug Collins, and Herb Simon.

Herb Simon, the owner of the Indiana Pacers since 1983, expressed his honor and humility upon receiving the induction. The Pacers have made 27 playoff appearances under his ownership, including a trip to the 2000 NBA Finals.

The Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony celebrated the remarkable achievements of these basketball legends, acknowledging their contributions to the sport and their lasting impact on the game.
