The Los Angeles Dodgers are on the verge of advancing to the 2024 World Series with a 3-2 lead over the New York Mets in the National League Championship Series. The Mets managed to stay alive with a Game 5 win, setting up Game 6 (and potentially Game 7) in Los Angeles.
So far, the NLCS has been mostly one-sided, with the Dodgers dominating in their three wins, outscoring the Mets 27-2 in Games 1, 3, and 4. The Mets, however, took Game 2 with a strong performance and claimed Game 5 with a 12-6 victory. There have been no lead changes in any of the five games played so far.
The Mets earned their spot in the NLCS by eliminating the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card Series and the Philadelphia Phillies in the Division Series. On the other hand, the Dodgers advanced by beating the Padres in the NLDS after securing the top seed in the NL. The winner of the NLCS will move on to face either the Yankees or the Guardians in the World Series.
