Manchester City loses a 4th straight game, and seems to be falling apart

Manchester City suffered their fourth consecutive defeat, losing 2-1 to Brighton on Saturday, sparking speculation that this could be the end of their dominance in English soccer.

The reigning Premier League champions took the lead with a goal from Erling Haaland, but then fell apart, allowing Brighton to score two goals in six minutes. This defeat could see them fall five points behind Liverpool at the top of the EPL table.

This loss marks City’s fourth consecutive defeat, equaling their total number of losses from the previous season. It is also the first time in Pep Guardiola’s managerial career that he has experienced four consecutive defeats.

Injuries have played a significant role in City’s recent decline, with key players like Kevin de Bruyne and RĂºben Dias sidelined. The absence of Rodri, who is expected to be out for the rest of the season, has left a noticeable gap in City’s midfield.

Despite their current struggles, there is still time for City to turn things around and challenge for the Premier League title. However, looming financial rules breaches could lead to severe consequences for the club.

The end of Manchester City’s era of dominance appears to be on the horizon, with uncertainties surrounding their future in English soccer.
