WASHINGTON — In a thrilling turn of events, the Big Four teams in the NWSL solidified their spots in the semifinals after a weekend filled with intense matches.

The Orlando Pride, Kansas City Current, Washington Spirit, and Gotham FC emerged victorious from their quarterfinal clashes, setting the stage for what promises to be an action-packed semifinal weekend.

Notably, the Washington Spirit faced a tough challenge from Bay FC, falling behind 1-0 before staging a remarkable comeback in the dying minutes of the game. Tara McKeown’s heroic goal in the 86th minute equalized the score, leading the Spirit to a 2-1 victory in extra time.

With star players like Rose Lavelle, Trinity Rodman, Barbra Banda, and Temwa Chawinga showcasing their skills, the upcoming semifinals are expected to be a showcase of top-tier talent and competitive spirit.

Orlando Pride will take on Kansas City Current in one semifinal, while Washington Spirit will face Gotham FC in the other. The matchups promise to be thrilling encounters between the best teams in the league, who have consistently outperformed their competition throughout the season.
