Thursday marked the latest round of Major League Baseball’s prestigious award announcements for the 2024 season. The selections for the All-MLB team for 2024, along with the Hank Aaron Awards, the Mariano Rivera American League Reliever of the Year, the Trevor Hoffman National League Reliever of the Year, the Edgar Martinez Outstanding Designated Hitter Award, and the Comeback Player of the Year Awards were revealed at a gala event in Las Vegas.
The All-MLB team selections were made by a combination of fan votes and expert opinions. The Hank Aaron Award, which recognizes the top offensive player in each league, was determined by a panel of Hall of Famers and fan votes, while the Comeback Player of the Year Awards were decided by the 30 team beat writers for MLB.com.
The more well-known BBWAA-awarded accolades, including the Rookie of the Year Awards, the Manager of the Year Awards, the Cy Young Awards, and the Most Valuable Player Awards, will be announced in the following week. But for now, let’s celebrate these deserving winners.
