Hansi Flick slams ‘really bad’ Barcelona after Celta implosion

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick criticized his players heavily after they blew a two-goal lead against Celta Vigo.

The Catalan giants were in control with a 2-0 lead from goals by Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, but Marc Casado’s red card in the 82nd minute led to them conceding two quick goals and settling for a draw.

Coming off a loss to Real Sociedad, Barcelona have allowed Real Madrid the opportunity to close the gap at the top of the table if they win against Leganes on Sunday, potentially reducing the lead to just four points.

Real Madrid also have a game in hand over Barcelona, meaning they could bring the gap down to just one point with another victory.

Flick was visibly disappointed by his team’s collapse against Celta, pointing out the numerous errors made by his players throughout the match.

“There were a lot of mistakes, bad passes, turnovers, and poor decisions. It’s not just about the red card or Jules’ mistake. It’s about the collective performance of the team,” Flick stated.

Jules Kounde took responsibility for his mistake that led to Celta’s first goal, acknowledging his lack of concentration and the impact it had on the team.

“We haven’t been performing at our best in the last two games. It’s a learning experience for all of us. We need to regroup and rediscover our top form,” Kounde admitted.
