Ja Morant is ready to return to the Memphis Grizzlies lineup on Monday night to face the Portland Trail Blazers, as reported by NBA journalist Chris Haynes.
Morant, a two-time All-Star, has been absent from the Grizzlies’ last eight games due to a hip injury. The injury occurred on Nov. 6 against the Los Angeles Lakers, and he was initially expected to be out for an indefinite period.
The Grizzlies confirmed that Morant suffered a posterior hip subluxation without dislocation.
This injury was a setback for Morant following a limited appearance in the previous season due to various reasons. Fortunately, the injury did not keep him out for an extended period.
Prior to his absence, Morant was averaging 20.6 points, 9.1 assists, and five rebounds in eight games, with shooting percentages of 44.8% from the field and 25.8% from beyond the arc. Despite his absence, the Grizzlies managed a 5-3 record and currently hold the seventh spot in the Western Conference with a 10-7 record.
